The Kogi State governor-elect, Yahaya Bello, has posited that the election petition tribunal does not have the constitutional powers to put a halt to his being sworn-in as governor.Bello’s lawyer, Joseph Daudu (SAN) stated this while opposing the two motions on notice, which is praying for an order of the tribunal, stopping the inauguration slated for January 27. ”¨Specifically, the motions initiated by lawyers to incumbent Governor Idris Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Chris Uche (SAN) and that of the Labour Party (LP), Reuben Egwuaba, the governor-elect prayed the tribunal to throw out the motion.Ruling on the applications has been adjourned till January 25, 2016.
