Trump’s Shooting: Text and Radio Chatter Expose Tracking Failure

Newly released text messages and radio chatter reveal a disturbing lack of coordination among law enforcement agents, who temporarily lost sight of Thomas Matthew Crooks, the man who attempted to assassinate Donald Trump at the July 13 rally.

According to documents released by Sen. Chuck Grassley’s office, law enforcement officers knew of and raised the shooter’s presence at the rally more than 90 minutes before he climbed onto a roof and fired eight rounds at Trump.

Recall that 20-year old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire at the campaign event of Republican candidate Donald Trump though the bullet only managed to graze Trump’s ear.

Heavy criticism and scrutiny have been directed at the security agencies involved since the accident.
