
The US Department of Defence has revealed that three of the men accused of plotting the September 11 attacks have agreed to plead guilty.The three men, who have been held in at the US Navy base Guantanamo Bay for years without a trial will plead guilty in exchange for the prosecution agreeing not to seek a death penalty.Mohammed, Walid Muhammad Salih Mubarak Bin ‘Attash and Mustafa Ahmed Adam al Hawsawi—the three accused men have agreed to this though the terms of those pretrial agreements were not made public.According to Forbes, Mohammed, a former top member of Osama bin Laden’s terrorist organization al-Qaeda, was captured in Pakistan in 2003 during a pre-dawn raid—the arrest of a disheveled Mohammed was captured in a photograph that became one of the most iconic images of the U.S. war on terror.
