USAID Counselor, Staal on tour of African countries

U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Counselor, Thomas H. Staal will travel to three African countries of Ethiopia, Kenya, and South Sudan, starting from April 1 through 14, 2017.While in Ethiopia, Counselor Staal will meet with government officials in company of students from the National War College. Same way, he will meet humanitarian actors to discuss the ongoing drought and USAID’s response efforts.The USAID counselor will also promote “Power Africa,” an initiative to improve access to power in sub-Saharan Africa. He will thereafter travel to Kenya to meet with partners and review humanitarian activities in East Africa.In Kenya, Staal will also meet with government officials to discuss U.S. efforts to counter violent extremism.Same tour of duty he owes the South Sudan, when he will meet with partners and government officials on how to tackle the famine ravaging parts of the country, as well as USAID’s ongoing humanitarian response.
