A vintage guitar owned by popular musical legendary, King Sunny Ade was auctioned at a price of N52.1 million in Lagos. The guitar was revealed at the musician’s 70th birthday concert titled ”˜Sunny on Sunday’ where many of Nigeria’s top celebrities and personalities graced the occasion. The occasion held at the Temple Balmoral Marquee, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island.

The guitar was auctioned by Dr. Jogun Onabanjo, Certified Auctioneer and Chief Executive of Onabanjo and Onabanjo and Co. Also, the guitar was designed by Nigerian artist, Victor Ehikamenor.The bid started off at N9 million which was then competitively followed by well influential men in the likes of Alhaji Aliko Dangote and Mr. Femi Otedola. The auction closed at a bid of N52.1 million after exceeding the N50 million benchmark fifteen minutes into the bid. Two minutes into the bid, the asking price of the guitar doubled to N17 million.The winner of the auction and of the guitar is however yet to be revealed.
