Wike Says Supreme Court Judgement Is Victory for Democracy, Rule of Law

Victorious Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, has said that the pronouncement of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, which declared him the winner of the governorship election in the state, is a victory for democracy and the rule of law. He also described his victory as a confirmation of God’s backing for his election as the governor of Rivers State. The governor, in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu, maintained that the judgment of the Supreme Court, remains an affirmation of the mandate freely given to him by the people of the state. The governor in the spirit of sportsmanship extended a hand of fellowship to the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dakuku Peterside, to join hands with him to move the state forward.
