She and other top notch celebrities such as Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson and many others celebrated the benefits and installation of GravityLight, one of seven energy ideas aimed at offering a more reliable and safer alternative compared to other energy sources, at Kenya last week at the 50 Night Tour of Kenya.According to the Managing Director of Shell Petroleum Development Company in Nigeria, Mr. Osagie Okunbo, a statement made by him is as follows; ”˜The event in Kenya brings close to home how innovations and collaborations can help bridge the energy divide in the face of a rapidly growing global population’. He further stated that providing a large array of tenable resources for the world’s increasing population, Shell is providing support for young entrepreneurs through the 13 year old LiveWIRE programme.Yemi Alade also spoke of her importance of her music in aiding the entrepreneurial campaign organized by Shell. She said that her music provided a ground to bring attention to the energy needs of the world with a strong resolve to provide innovative ideas to the people who form a huge part of her fan base. ”˜Music offers a good platform and this is particularly true in Nigeria where we work hard to provide the energy the nation badly needs to develop. In my music, I try to encourage people to look at the innovative side of life and this is what the #makethefuture seeks to achieve in the energy space.
