$2.1 Armsgate: EFCC Says Metuh Mentioned Jonathan in Destroyed Statement

By Correspondent

Justice Ishaq Bello of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja was on Friday informed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) that the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh, tore the statement he made to investigators. Making this known at the commencement of Metuh’s trial before the judge, the anti-graft agency argued that Metuh dismembered the statement when he came to the realization that he had made reference to immediate past President Good luck Jonathan, and had further implicated himself. The PDP scribe is answering questions to a three-count charge that touches on destroying his statement and obstructing investigation. Metuh was arraigned on an amended charge, which now includes a third count. Tahir said the third count of “mischief” contravened Section 326 punishable under Section 327 of the Penal Code.
