Security Lapses: Senior Airport Officials Suspended in Abuja

By Correspondent

All senior airport officials at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja have been suspended. Announcing the suspension on Sunday, the Minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika, said the action became imperative owing to what he described as observable security lapses when a Turkish airline arrived Abuja, at 3 o’clock last Friday morning. The minister also directed a full investigation into the failure of the airport officials to make adequate arrangement for over 300 passengers who took over the tarmac for hours on Christmas day.
