$2.1bn Arms Scandal: Dasuki Accuses Buhari of Witch-hunt

By Correspondent

Troubled immediate past National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki, on Friday told an Abuja High Court, that President Muhammadu Buhari, was responsible for what he termed his unlawful arrest and detention without trial since December 29, 2015. Dasuki, who spoke through his lawyer, Joseph Daudu (SAN), insisted that President Buhari propelled his detention unjustly against the bail granted him by three different courts through his (Buhari) comment on Presidential Media Chat in December 2015. According to a further affidavit initiated in support of his application at the court, Dasuki posited that Buhari threw emotions into the air during the Presidential Media Chat when he openly told Nigerians that he (Dasuki) and Nnamdi Kanu could not be allowed bail because they would jump bail. While putting up claims, that he had been kept incommunicado ever since the time of his re-arrest, he prayed the court, presided over by Justice Peter Affen to stop his further trial until the federal government purged itself of the contempt of court which prevented him from filing an effective defence because of his continued detention by DSS without having access to his lawyers.
