Anambra govt concludes plan to set up electronic vehicle inspection centre

After much deliberation, the Anambra Government has disclosed plans to set up a computer-based vehicle inspection centre, thereby replacing the old ways of checking vehicles for road worthiness.This disclosure was made in Awka by Mr. Christopher Okeke, Head, Vehicle Inspection Office, Ministry of Transport at the ongoing week of the West African Road Safety Organisation (WARSO)According to information garnered from the NAN reports, the 2017 edition of the WARSO celebration began on Monday and its theme is, “Save Lives, Slow Down”.Okeke said the state government was committed to ensuring easy detection of rickety vehicles, with appropriate measures taken.“Before any vehicle in Anambra state is issued certificate of road worthiness, it must have undergone the computer-based testing.“This effort will go a long way in minimising accidents on our roads,” Okeke further said.
