Anis Amri, the suspected criminal involved in the Berlin Christmas Market truck attack have been killed in a shootout Friday with Italian Police in Milan.

The shootout took place in the neighbourhood of Sesto San Giovanni around 3 am Local time during a routine Police check when the suspect was asked for an identity but instead pulled out a .22 calibre and fired a shot wounding a nearby police officer.In a press conference, Italy’s Interior Minister, Marco Minniti, confirmed the suspect’s identity saying, “without any doubt” Anis Amri has been shot dead.He thanked the “exceptional” Police officers who were on alert to immediately identify and “neutralize” Anis Amri.24-year old Amri had been on the run since Monday’s attack and European Authorities had offered a sum of 100,000Euros as reward for anyone with information on his whereabouts.Amri’s attack in Berlin, Monday, left a trail of 12 bodies and 48 injured, plunging Germans into fear and shock.
