Australian Government to Partner with Abia Government on Teacher Training Project

By Correspondent

The Abia State Government has announced plans to partner with the Australian Ministry of Education to retrain primary school teachers in the state, as well as equip them for social relevance. Governor Okpezie Ikpeazu revealed this during a media briefing in Umuahia, stating that his regime was dignified and blessed to be the channel through which the state’s educational system would be functional. Ikpeazu added that his agenda and focus for the next few months is to rehabilitate infrastructures in primary schools within the state. He further disclosed that two new model primary schools would be built in each of the three senatorial zones of the state and equipped with state of the art learning equipment including computers and furnished classrooms. With such facilities in place, there would be no reason any government official would not send his child to the public schools; the governor said. These schools will accommodate at least 10 teachers, including the head teacher within the school premises as it was in the past in order to help protect the school’s equipment. The first citizen of Abia reiterated that his administration’s ingenuity has inspired other industrious citizens in the state to take up the rehabilitation of primary schools and furnishing classroom blocks in the primary schools they attended in their communities.
