Buhari Should Be Held Responsible for Killings in Rivers State- Fayose

By Correspondent

The governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has insisted that incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari should be held responsible for the sporadic shootings reported in Abonema area of Port Harcourt, the state capital. He also maintained that the president has a lot of explanations to do over the violence and loss of lives being witnessed in Rivers State. According to Fayose, “Members of the APC were emboldened to unleash violence on the people of Rivers State and other parts of the country because they know that President Buhari won’t lift a finger against any of his party members perpetrating evil. “Those who called the Ekiti State governorship election in which soldiers and other security agents made sure that there was no violence, no loss of lives during and after the election and no ballot was snatched ”˜Ekiti Gate’ should be asked what the Rivers election in which eight people were killed and several others injured, will be called.” Fayose, speaking through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, posited,“Can President Buhari fold his arms if the people being killed are from Daura in Katsina State? Is it that any soul that is not a Fulani is not important to the President?” The Ekiti governor, therefore, called for the immediate sack of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu, and challenged Nigerians to ask questions as to how INEC produced results sheets for over 230 polling units with PDP omitted.
