Burning of church: Three suspects assisting Kaduna Police with investigations in Zaria

It was alleged that on Thursday morning, an eyewitness informed the Pastor of the Church, Pastor Samuel Jacob that the Church was on fire.On getting to the premises of the Church, Pastor Jacob discovered that the Church had been set ablaze and everything including chairs and other materials used in the Church was completely destroyed.According to the pastor of the Church, a hole was discovered on the wall of the Church from where the suspects gained access into the Church resulting in the burning of the worship centre.On seeing what happened, the pastor reported the matter to the Sabon Gari Divisional Police Office and traditional ruler of the area.This resulted in the arrest of the three suspects now in police custody.The zonal pastor in charge of the North West of CEFN, Rev. Philip U. Utaji, said that all the musical instruments were catered away.When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Aliyu Usman, confirmed the arrest of the three suspects in connection with the fire incident.He assured that investigation into the matter was ongoing, adding that as soon as the investigation was completed, the suspects would be charged to court.The three suspects are Muda Mu’azu, Abdulrahman Saidu and Aliyu Yakubu, while the fourth suspect is still at large.
