Constitutionally, all elected officers shall hold office for a period of two years, but are, however, eligible to be re-elected for a second term in office, if they so desire. In his acceptance speech, the newly elected president assured the members that his team of executives would justify the confidence reposed in them by rendering good and efficient services. He stressed that with their full support and cooperation, the new executive would do its best in ensuring that CBN pensioners are fully given what is legitimately due to them and not short-changed in any way by anybody. The CBN Pensioners Club, which came into existence in 1993, has its headquarters in Lagos, with branches in all CBN locations throughout Nigeria. The Club has as its primary objective, to bring all CBN pensioners under one forum, as well as promoting their welfare. It is officially recognised by the CBN Management, as the connecting link with its pensioners.
