Evangelical Alliance, Release International, Christian Solidarity Worldwide, and Open Doors hosted the online prayer meeting. The event commemorates the 24th International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. It is an annual occasion by the Christian organizations throughout November to pray for the persecuted churches worldwide.From Release International, Andrew Boyd highlighted China, Nigeria, and India as having the highest number of persecutions in the year 2020. “They are huge countries, China the biggest in the world. India, the second-biggest, followed by Nigeria, the most populous nation in Africa. And in all of those three nations, persecution is happening in plain sight.It’s being permitted to continue. The authorities are not doing much to prevent it, and in some cases, they’re encouraging it.”Particularly in China, the authorities have demolished and destroyed even the state-controlled churches. Meanwhile, in India, Hindu extremist attacks on Christians are now a daily occurrence. And in Nigeria, militant attacks have slaughtered hundreds of Nigerian Christians and are continuing to do so.Subsequently, the alarming rate of persecution in these countries has made them the highlight of the prayer event.

“Let’s pray for the international community that instead of allowing this to happen in plain sight across the world, that they will say ‘enough is enough.’”
