DONALD TRUMP NOMINATES TILLERSON FOR SECRETARY OF STATE

United States President-elect, Donald Trump announced on Tuesday his candidate for Secretary of state as Exxon- Mobil Chairman, Rex Tillerson.In a statement released by his transition team, Trump said, “His tenacity, broad experience and deep understanding of geopolitics make him an excellent choice for Secretary of State. He will promote regional stability and focus on the core national security interests of the United States.”The Texas-born business mogul lacking government expertise have been described by Trump as “a world-class leader” capable of working on behalf of the American people.Responding to the nomination, Tillerson expressed gratitude saying he was “honoured” by his nomination and shares Trump’s “vision for restoring the credibility of the United States’ foreign relations and advancing our country’s national security.”Tillerson’s nomination has been met with worry and concern by both Democrats and Republicans; especially Republican Senators,  John McCain and Marco Rubio owing to close friendliness with Russia’s Vladimir Putin whom have been rumoured to build a Russian empire and rise to world power and a competent rival of the US.In 2013, Rex Tillerson was accorded an honour of “The Order of Friendship” by Putin for his involvement in a deal negotiation with Rosneft to provide access to lucrative oil resources in the Arctic and for his work, “strengthening co-operation in the energy sector.”Rex Tillerson,64, who served as Exxon- Mobil’s boss since 2006 would assume the Secretary of State’s  position succeeding Democrat John Kerry, once cleared through Senate come January.Discover more from NewsBreakers
