Ebonyi State: Umahi Appoints State Correspondent for CPS Position

New Chief Press Secretary has been appointed by Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi. He is Mr. Emmanuel Uzor.The Commissioner for Information, Ebonyi State, Sen. Emma Onwe, disclosed that the appointment takes immediate effect. The new press secretary has worked as Ebonyi State Correspondence for The Sun Newspaper before his recent appointment.He becomes a successor to Mr. Emma Anya who was retrenched lately.Uzor started working for The Sun Newspaper in 2010 and had since served in Onitsha, Anambra State, prior to his relocation to Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital, in August 2015.Uzor is an alumnus of the University of Ibadan and Nnamdi Azikwe University Awka and holding a Bachelor of Art (BA) degrees in Philosophy and Mass Communication.He also has to his credit, a Bachelors of Philosophy (B’PHL) from the Pontificate University, Urban, Rome and Diploma in Latin from St Joseph University, Rome.The new press secretary has however received congratulatory messages, the latest coming from a colleague, the National President of the Sports Writers’ Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Comrade Honour Sirawoo.Sirawoo’s message was handed down by the state Chairman of SWAN, Mr. Chukwuemeka Opara, who said the appointment was deserving of Uzor and a way to compensate his excellent performance all the while.
