Economic hardship: Buhari needs to step up his game – NBA Chairman‎

The Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Plateau Branch, Ralph Monye, has urged the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to sit up and do something about the present economic mishap in the country.Monye stated this in a chat with newsmen in Jos, Plateau state.He also noted that masses were hungry and suffering given the high rate of lack and unemployment, with people committing suicide at a disturbing rate.“I believe the government can sit up and do something at arresting the situation to create confidence in the people of this nation, especially the youths who are at a loss to what the future holds for them, ’’ Monye stated.He maintained that government had to be more pragmatic in its policies and programmes for an aggressive revival of the economy.On the President’s health situation, the NBA Chairman admonished Nigerians to stop the debate and intensify prayers for the quick recovery and return to office of President Buhari.The Bar chairman said that the President’s recovery will be for the good of Nigeria and Nigerians, as we would continue to enjoy his wealth of experience garnered over the years.“The President is trying his best for the nation but his health is slowing him down, we are missing a lot from what he could do for us as our leader.“It is my belief that when God grants him total recovery, he will return to office for the good of this country, especially in seeing that we come out of the biting economic recession,’’ the lawyer stated.On the Judiciary, the legal luminary said that the judiciary was trying its best at ensuring that the rule of law and justice was maintained in all sphere of life in the country.
