EFCC releases ex-minister of Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released former minister of FCT, Senator Bala Mohammed from its custody after six weeks detention. This decision followed the order by the High Court of the FCT vacating the remand warrant which the commission used to hold the senator in custody.

The remand warrant vacate was moved by the Council to the former minister, Chief Chris Uche (SAN).Before his eventual release, he threatened to sue the commission over his continued detention against an order by the court demanding his release from their custody.He also filed a N100 million fundamental human rights suit against the commission.
