Fayose’s Account Frozen

By Correspondent

The personal account of the Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose alongside that of his associates, were on Monday frozen by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. Speaking at the premises of the Zenith Bank, Ado-Ekiti, where his personal account was domiciled, Fayose stated that the information had earlier gotten to him that the presidency has the intention of seizing his account. He explained that he had issued a counter cheque to make a withdrawal and was thrown out by the bank located at Onigari, GRA in Ado Ekiti. The governor maintained that the action is criminal and illegal, just as he made reference to Section 308 of the 1999 constitution. The governor further posited that he enjoys immunity as a sitting governor and asked the Federal Government, FG, to fight corruption within the ambit of the law.
