FG to Commence Ogoni Clean-up June 2

 The Minister of Environment, Mrs Amina Muhammed has declared that the Federal government will on June 2 launch the kick-off of Ogoni clean-up programme as contained in the United Nations Environment Programme Report, UNEP. Speaking during a visit to the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, the minister who was represented by the Minister of State for Environment, Ibrahim Usman, explained that the meeting was intended to seek the collaboration of all stakeholders in the exercise. According to the minister, “The programme is expected to be launched on June 2. It has been designed to be driven by all stakeholders in the region. The essence of this is to ensure that the people of Ogoni and the region at large benefit from the process.”
