Four Nigerian police officers shot dead in robbery attack

Four Police officers were shot dead by armed robbers on Tuesday in multiple bank robbery attacks in Iwo, Osun State.The attacks, which were targeted at three banks on Bowen University road, Iwo, were said to have been carried out at about 4.p.m.In confirmation of the robbery to newsmen, the police spokesperson, Folashade Odoro, said the incident claimed four policemen.Ms. Odoro said the Commissioner of Police in the state, Fimihan Adeoye, as well as top officials of the police and State Security Service were presently deliberating on the most effective way to apprehend the hoodlums.Students and residents were affected by the multiple attacks, as a number of them were badly injured while scampering to safety.
