FRSC Describes Mobile Court as Vital Tool for Traffic Management

By Correspondent

The Plateau State unit of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has declared that its Mobile Court has remained a vital tool to check unqualified drivers and vehicles from plying the highways.According to the FRSC’s state Public Education Officer, Andrew Bala, the activities of the mobile courts have been a vital tool that the corps uses to reduce the number of unqualified drivers and vehicles from plying highways. He said, “Mobile court proceeding has given our men on patrol the opportunity to charge traffic offenders and they are given a fair hearing when arrested.” Bala further explained that 29 motorists were convicted for various traffic offences by the court during its routine patrol exercise within the Jos-Bukuru area on Saturday. “We actually apprehended 31 offenders but the court discharged two and convicted 29. “Some of the prevalent offences are seat belt violation, driver’s licence violation, use of the phone while driving and use of worn out tyres. “Others are overloading, vehicle licence violation, lack of fire extinguishers and caution signs,’’ he added.
