German ISIS suspect deported to Nigeria

A German-born ISIS suspect has been deported to Nigeria from Germany.The new agency in German, dpa covers the story of the 22-year-old German, who arrived Lagos Thursday.The unidentified suspect who is confirmed free of any crime, was detained in February in Goettingen during a probe of suspected attacks. He was detained alongside his 27-year-old partner, who both live with their parents in Goettingen.On investigation, the two suspects were found with two weapons, one of which was converted from firearm to fire live ammunition.Also in the exhibit were ammunition, flags of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and a machete.The deportee is outlawed from entering Germany for life.In response to attacks by Islamic extremists last year, Berlin has resolved to increase deportations of foreigners seen as threats.Reports has it that the suspects were arrested after due surveillance on them for a while. German interior ministry ordered their excommunication having considered them a menace to national safety.This is the first time in German history of expelling anyone for an alleged threat to national security.Lower Saxony’s Interior Minister, Boris Pistorius (SPD) said “We are sending a clear warning to all fanatics nationwide that we will not give them a centimeter of space to carry out their despicable plans,” after a court ruling in favour of the deportation.“They will face the full force of the law regardless of whether they were born here or not,” he assured.Meanwhile the German authorities placed the deportation of the Algerian counterpart on a conditional assurances that the Algerian government would not subject him to inhuman treatment.
