 A non-governmental organization, Great Emerald Services in collaboration with 042 Entertainment, Medicaid Cancer Foundation and other partners is set to host a beauty pageant called Queen of Emerald Nigeria to sensitize women to fight the menace in the country. This is a part of efforts scheduled to promote women’s health and create awareness to the danger cervical cancer can cause to the nation.This is the second edition tagged “The Beautydom Edition” and slated for Sunday, May 7 at the Event Centre, Lekki, Lagos.The event Project Director, Uche Okafor said that the needless loss of a friend’s sister to cervical cancer has necessitated his desire to assist humanity to champion the cause.Okafor spoke on the selection process, stating that the auditions previously held in 17 states produced 37 finalists, who will contest for the ultimate crown. He mentioned that aside improving the quality of life of its queens, Emerald Nigeria enable with the opportunities to perform brilliantly in their chosen fields as Ambassadors of the brand. He also added that amazing prizes were offered the winners, in a way to encourage beauty and purpose.Notable public figures are scheduled to receive awards at the event, namely Desmond Elliot, Dj Cuppy , Oritse Femi , Tchidi Chikere, Victoria Nkong , Adepoju Olukokun, Mercy Makinde and Ayo Animashaun.
