The Senate on Thursday asked the Federal Government to immortalize the late Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Samuel Odulana. They said the Federal Government should do this by naming a national or state monument after him as a mark of honour. The Senate will also send a delegation to condole the family, people and government of Oyo State over the death of the monarch. The resolutions were sponsored by Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi and 16 others. This was following the adoption of a motion on the “Demise of Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade 1.” Akanbi maintained that the Oba earned an exemplary character award as a result of his hard work and patriotism.
