Jesus the Reason for the Season

Yaay! It is Christmas time again! That time of the year that is filled with so much fun and celebration in many parts of the world. Many regard Christmas as holiday period, but this should not be, it is all about Jesus. Christmas is not just about the holiday, fun and festivities, it is about our Lord Jesus Christ; it is the time generally agreed for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.Christmas is all about Jesus; we commemorate His birth and what it stands for. We celebrate and remember all that He came to do for us. There are many benefits of Christmas; i.e. what Jesus did for us. The reason Jesus came is to set us free from sin and its consequences. He is the Saviour of the world and He came to set us free from eternal damnation; He freed us from the devil and removed his evil nature from us. He reconciled us back to the Father and gave us the life of God. As we celebrate Christmas, we should remember this and be grateful to Christ for this.Someone said salvation is free at the expense of Jesus. Yes, we have salvation and redemption for free but at the expense of Jesus; because of Jesus, we can be called children of God. We have to live in the consciousness of what Jesus has done for us; enjoy the life of God to the fullest and we must not allow the devil to put us under his bondage because Christ has set us free. We must therefore stand fast in the liberty that Christ obtained for us. The devil capitalises on ignorance; if you don’t know or live in the consciousness that you are free from him, he will continue to take advantage of you. Don’t let the devil cheat you out of the good life that Christ obtained for you; enjoy the life of God to the fullest.Get to know more about this beautiful life in Christ by studying your Bible, praying and attending a Bible believing church. Be hungry to know more about God, because knowledge and light about God will make you free.Share Jesus with others. Jesus is God’s beautiful gift to the world; tell the world about Him.
