Jonathan Denies Empty Treasury under His Government

The former president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan has refuted claims by the incumbent Government of President Muhammadu Buhari that the country’s treasury was empty when he handed over power last year. In an exclusive interview with Bloomberg Television in London, Jonathan said, “There’s no way he would have inherited an empty Treasury.” President Buhari had accused the past government of looting billions of dollars and leaving the country’s finances “virtually empty.”
