Jonathan Is a Necessary Witness in The Charge Against Me- Metuh

By Correspondent

The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh, on Tuesday, insisted that the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan, remains a major witness in the charge made against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). This revelation came, just as the EFCC maintained, that it could gallantly prosecute Metuh, without having to involve President Jonathan in the matter. Metuh had earlier stated that since the former president was allegedly involved in the process that led to the payment of funds for his presidential campaign, President Jonathan is a necessary witness in the case. Metuh and his firm, Destra Investment Limited, are facing trial before Justice Okon Abang of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, over their alleged role in receiving N400 million from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) for security services, but he allegedly diverted the funds to finance his party’s activities. Metuh and his company were further accused by the EFCC of flouting the money laundering Act by making suspicious investment worth $2 million.
