Kompany Ruled out of PSG Tie
By Correspondent
Vincent Kompany will miss Manchester City’s quarter-final second leg clash with Paris Saint-Germain.
The City captain trained on Monday in a bid to prove his fitness ahead of PSG’s visit to the Etihad on Wednesday night.
However, City boss Manuel Pellegrini says he cannot afford to risk Kompany, who last featured for City since suffering a calf injury against Dynamo Kiev in the round of 16.
‘He is not 100 percent. It is not possible,’ Pellegrini told reporters ahead of Wednesday’s game.
But there is cheering news regarding the fitness of fellow defender Nicolas Otamendi. The Argentine is available for selection and looks set to feature against Laurent Blanc’s side despite hurting his ankle in the 2-1 win over West Brom at the weekend.
