Manuel Neuer has signed a new five-year contract extension at Bayern Munich, which will run until 2021. The 30-year old goalkeeper, who won the World Cup with Germany in 2014, moved to the Allianz Arena in 2011 from Schalke. Neuer has featured 248 times for the German champions, winning the Bundesliga thrice in 2013, 2014 and 2015, as well as the Champions League in 2013. He has been capped 64 times for the World Champions and has committed his future having denied reports last month that he would be retiring from football after turning 30. ”˜I feel fit and well,’ he said. ”˜I know that I have to look after my health, but turning 30 is no reason to start considering the end of my career. ”˜I love playing football every day. I love working hard, I love training, I love the games, I love the challenge.’ Neuer’s decision makes him the fifth Bayern player to commit to the Munich club until 2021 alongside Jerome Boateng, Thomas Muller, David Alaba and Javi Martinez.
