New PDP National Chairman to Emerge Tomorrow

By Correspondent

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) may eventually get a substantive chairman tomorrow when the members of its National Executive Committee meet in Abuja. It would be recalled that the postponement of the party’s national caucus meeting was reported last week, purportedly to appoint a new National Chairman of the party. The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh, speaking to newsmen in Abuja yesterday, said members of the party’s National Working Committee had scheduled meetings of key statutory organs of the party for next week. According to the schedule approved by the NWC, the meeting of the national caucus of the party has been slated for Tuesday. This meeting, according to Metuh, will be followed by that of the Board of Trustees on Wednesday morning, while that of the National Executive Committee will follow in the afternoon.
