Nigerians Charged to Embrace Servant Leadership

The annual leadership conference of Daystar Christian Centre, Lagos has ended with a charge to participant to imbibe the leadership qualities of Jesus who exemplified servant leadership.The conference with the theme, Servant Leadership, had in attendance participants from within and outside Nigeria. There were an array of speakers, including the convener of the conference, Pastor Sam Adeyemi and his wife, Pastor Nike Adeyemi, the president of the Love Home Orphanage, Lagos.Other high profile speakers at the conference were: Pastor Poju Oyemade of Covenant Christian Center, Pastor Victor Adeyemi (Global Harvest Church), Dr. Victor Oladokun, of the 700 Club fame, actor and film maker, Kunle Afolayan, Olympic Gold Medallist, Chioma Ajunwa, former governor of Ekiti State and Minister Designate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, amongst others.Host of the conference, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, charged participants at the 3-day conference to emulate Jesus Christ and serve their followers diligently, rather than see leadership as an opportunity to amass wealth.Pastor Nike Adeyemi, who also spoke at the conference, drew extensively from her experience with taking women off the streets who had been abused and rehabilitating them, challenged participants to go beyond confessing their faith to taking actions that will positively affect the lives of people around them. The conference was held between November 4 and 6, 2015.
