Obafemi Martins Joins Shanghai Shenhua

Obafemi Martins has completed a move to Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua. The 31-year-old Nigerian joins Shanghai from Major Soccer League outfit, Seattle Sounders. Martins made 84 appearances for the Sounders, scoring 43 times in the American topflight during his time in the CenturyLink Field, including helping the club win the 2014 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and MLS Supporters’ Shield. He also made the MLS All-Star team in 2015. Shanghai Shenhua, who won the Chinese FA Super Cup in 1995, 1998 and 2001, is currently sixth on the table under the stewardship of coach Gregorio Manzano. Â
