Osun Workers Throw out Aregbesola’s Demand for BVN

Civil servants have rejected the demand of their Bank Verification Number (BVN), by the Osun State government. It would be recalled that the state government had through a circular requested that the workers should submit the printout of their BVN among others. However, according to a statement issued by the Osun State Joint Public Service Negotiating Council on Tuesday, the labour unions in the state maintained that the request for BVN had subjected workers to stressful conditions in their various banks. The statement signed by its Chairman, Jacob Adekomi and three others, insisted that the BVN was exclusive and personal to its owner and that the state government has no right to it.
