Reasons have been adduced to President Mohammadu Buhari’s preference for seeking medical attention in the UK other than in Nigeria.Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed cited the reasons in a live program ”˜Morning Crossfire’ on Nigeria Info Abuja station on Thursday. The program entertained calls from the public, one of which was from a displeased caller who tongue-lashed the All Progressives Congress-led administration for reneging on its promise to bar government officials from travelling overseas for medical treatment.Mohammed however responded thus: “My answer is very simple. Mr President is our father, he is the leader of the nation and I think he deserves the best in terms of medical treatment.”Other question hinged on why government is disregarding court orders as it pertains to the release of some detained political agitators, and the minister replied: “If it is a court order and the order is not appealed, then you have flouted the order.“But if the order is appealed, then it is not a final order. Also, you have to balance national security with the rule of law. In the case of Ifeanyi Ubah, I think it is neither here nor there.”The Federal Government got the praise of a caller for its achievements however, the high cost of food stuffs was considered unpleasant, particularly, grain foods, like rice.
