Prof Osinbajo Speaks on Recent Visit to President Buhari in London

The recent visit of Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, to the United Kingdom on Tuesday was to check on President Muhammadu Buhari’s state of health, Prof Osinbajo said.President Buhari’s duration of absence from the country to the UK for medical treatment is now over 60 days.Mr. Osinbajo who has been speaking with the president over the phone said: “it will be a good thing to go and see him and also brief him on developments back at home.”

He further said while briefing State House correspondents before the weekly federal cabinet meeting that: “We had a very good time, we had a good conversation on wide ranging issues; he is in a very good spirit. He is recuperating very quickly and he is doing very well.”

“He is in a very high spirit, he is recuperating very fast.”

“We had a very long conversation, we spoke for well over an hour and his humour is there and he is doing well”.

“I think we should expect him back very shortly because he is recuperating very fast and very very well.

“He is recuperating very fast and we expect him very shortly; more sooner perhaps than you expect,” he said.

However, the acting president, did not deliberate the swear-in of the two ministers drawn from Gombe and Kogi States already screened and approved by the Senate on May 3, 2017.

The House of Representatives has, on Tuesday, asked Mr Osinbajo to swear-in the ministers.
