Saraki’s Application against CCT Chairman Dismissed

By Correspondent

The Code of Conduct Tribunal sitting in Abuja on Thursday threw out the application of the president of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, in its entirety. The Tribunal, presided over by Justice Danladi Umar dismissed in its entirety Saraki’s application seeking his disqualification from a further trial of the case. It would be recalled that the senate president had initiated an application to disqualify Justice Umar from further presiding over his trial. Saraki had alleged that the tribunal chairman still had a corruption case against him with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), just as he hinged his application on Section 36(1) of the constitution, which addressed the issue of biases and the rules of natural justice.
