Senator Iyabo Anisulowo Kidnapped

A one-time senator and former Minister of state for Education, Senator Iyabo Anisulowo was on Wednesday kidnapped by unknown gunmen alongside her security aide along Igbogila road in Yewa North local government area of Ogun state. The abducted Anisulowo served as a senator between 2003 and 2007, wherein she represented Ogun West Senatorial District at the National Assembly. She was reported to have been whisked away while returning from her farm. In confirming the development, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, stated that the Command got a report that Anisulowo was kidnapped by armed men. According to him, “Yes, we have the report that the senator was kidnapped this evening by some armed men. “The State commissioner of police, CP Abdulmajid Ali, has dispatched teams to the area, Ilaro, for the rescue operation. “We want to assure the public particularly her relations and those concerned that we will rescue her unhurt soon and the perpetrators will be apprehended. “We have embarked on a scientific investigation on the kidnap case and we are optimistic that the Senator will be rescued very soon.”
