Steps to Know Who You Should Allow In Your Boat
By James Hughes
In every aspect of your life it is important to know who should be allowed in your boat as you sail through the journey of life in pursuit of your dreams and visions.
There are a number of factors that can lead to our individual success in life and one of those factors has to do with the people in our lives.
The people we choose to surround ourselves with
We are responsible for ourselves, surrounding ourselves with the right type of people can help success come more naturally to us than being around those who might hold us back. Like Peter who had toiled day and night to catch some fishes. Despite his skills and experience, it was a futile effort.
But the moment he allowed Jesus into his boat; he was able to achieve success. Our personal improvement leading up to our success can be greatly influenced by other people.
Here are some tips to help you know who you should allow on your boat.
POSITIVE PEOPLE
We tend to do better if we are happy with what we are doing, but when
RELENTLESS PEOPLE
They push us to work harder each and every day. They are committed and passionate to achieve result in any thing they set their heart to do. They are not easily overwhelmed by the challenges of life.
PEOPLE WHO DARE TO DREAM BIG
As we set our goals and working hard towards achieving what seems unachievable, we should always surround ourselves with people who have similar goals in mind. These people don’t even need to be involved in the same business as yours, the important thing is that you keep within your circle, people with big plans for themselves. Seeing other people’s drive will keep you hungry to reach your goals.
Personal Decision
When all is said and done, we are still left to decide who should be or not be on our boat as we sail through life. God has always given the grace to always choose between life and death, wrong and right. Such grace is also extended to us in our relationships in business, career, family, etc.
You are the sum of who you spend your time with. Make sure that you are directly involved with people who lift you, inspire you, and motivate you to do and be more. As you grow and you aspire, this might mean changing friends and colleagues, and that’s part of life.
Just trust that hard work, positivity, and keeping your sights high are things you can’t risk deviating from if you want the life you dream of.
