Taraba Governor Suspends State University Workers

By Correspondent

The Governor of Taraba State, Darius Ishaku issued a directive to the management of the state-owned university in Jalingo to suspend all recruitment done from May 29, 2015, to date.
This was revealed to newsmen in a letter with reference number MOE/S/34/169 dated March 22, signed by one Bala Fwadu, for the state Commissioner for Education.
However, the letter addressed to the Registrar, Taraba State University on Tuesday indicated that the directive was with immediate effect.
It reads in part, ‘His Excellency, the Executive Governor, Arch Darius Dickson Ishaku has directed that all employment of staff in the University from 29th May 2015 to date have been suspended.’
We gathered that the suspension affected a senior lecturer, Dr Ibrahim Jalo, who was ordered in a letter from the institution on April 1, to hand over all the university’s properties in his possession.
