Thai police Monday rounded up a man for cutting his daughter’s throat during an argument over her Facebook and smart phone use.Sornkrai Poonperm, Police Commissioner of Petchburi province, about 120 kilometers south-west of Bangkok, said 41 year-old Surin Kaewrae confessed to inflicting injury on his 13 year-old daughter by the use of a knife.“Kaewrae attacked his daughter with a knife after a dispute over her excessive use of Facebook and a smartphone,’’ Poonperm remarked.The victim however survived the attack and presently receiving treatment in a hospital.According to the police commissioner, Surin was arrested at the time he was on the run in company of his 5-year-old daughter in a province close by.He was earlier sentenced to three years for unnamed crimes.Surin complained to the police he had endless arguments with his daughter over her choice of chatting with her boyfriend instead of studying, an advice she did not pay attention to.Police recounted how Surin’s wife Hattaya Kaewrae, the victim’s mother, tried to physically attack her husband but the police prevented her.According to report, Surin has been charged with attempted murder and presently in police custody.
