The NASS and Presidency enjoy an amicable work relationship– Wamakko

Following recent publications by some media houses regarding the Presidency and National Assembly working at cross purposes, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Senate committee chairman on Basic and Secondary Education, has come out to refute it and affirm that they will continue to remain good partners in the business of making Nigeria great. Wamakko, a former Sokoto state governor, made this disclosure in Sokoto at the closing ceremony of the maiden edition of inter-secondary schools Science Competition organised by NTA Sokoto Network Center. Senator Wammako maintained that the national assembly and the presidency’s relationship was that of mutual respect aimed at making Nigeria better than they met it. According to Wamakko, the legislature is fully committed to working together with the presidency and other arms of government to make Nigeria better. “Our relationship would continue to be that of mutual respect for each other and the end result is to make the nation better than we met it. ”˜’This is to ensure the logical implementation of policies and programmes aimed at further improving the living standard of Nigerians. “Similarly, I am assuring that no any part of the country would be neglected in the quest to ensure the even the provision of dividends of democracy to Nigerians.’’ While commending his successor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal on his giant strides in the educational sector, Wamakko urged Nigerians to continue to pray for peace, unity and prosperity for the nation On the quiz completion, Wamakko said such academic exercises are very important as it triggers the spirit of dedication to studies in the minds of students. ”˜’This is very crucial for the youths who are the future leaders of the country because at the end, everybody wins and there is no loser’’, he said.
