The Kano State Police has carried out the arrest of two supposed fraudsters whose stock in trade is the sale of fabricated fertilizers to farmers in the state.The Command’s PRO, DSP Magaji Majiya, who made this known in an official statement to journalists in Kano on Wednesday named the suspects as Nasiru Bagwai and Yahaya Kabo,Majiya said the culprits were caught on Monday in the course of waiting for buyers at the famous Kwanar Singer Market with a 100 bags of the fake fertilizers in their custody.His words: “The two suspects, Nasiru Bagwai and Yahaya Kabo were arrested in connection with adulteration of fertiliser which they sell to their innocent victims in Kano.Majiya affirmed that the suspects adopted a trick of using white sand for the production of the fake fertilizer products with the use of authentic fertilizer bags.“The duo were arrested on a tip-off in the nocturnal hours of Monday with the 100 bags of the adulterated commodity in their possession.“They dispose it to the general public at the rate officially fixed by the Federal Government, which is N5,500. per bag,” police chief stated.According to him, the accused would be face legal proceeding immediately investigations is done with.
