Unilorin Condemns Uproar over Deadline for Tuition Payment

By Correspondent

The management of the University of Ilorin, Kwara state has defined the uproar displayed by the group known as “Concerned Citizens” over the issue of the deadline for the payment of tuition fees at the university as “unnecessary and a waste of time”. Unilorin released a press statement signed by its Head of Corporate Affairs Unit, Mr. Kunle Akogun, in Ilorin. The statement reads in part: “The University decries the attempt of the group to whip up unnecessary sentiment over a well-known policy of the University of Ilorin.” “The university’s commitment to rules and regulations is one of the secrets behind its well-acclaimed academic excellence, stable calendar and zero-vice status for which it has become the toast of admission seekers and parents for the past 15 years.” Prior to this report, the Concerned Citizens had criticised the university’s deadline for the payment of tuition fees by its law-abiding students, which, it said, is “outdated, obsolete, insensitive and cruel”.
