‘Wenger Out Banners’: Gunners fans raise over £2,000

By

In their attempt to push out boss Arsene Wenger, Gunners’ fans have raised over £2,000 to fly a plane over the Emirates Stadium.Wenger, who is under intense pressure with the Gunners, presently out of the top four position on the Premier League table, has not been able to hold out an impressive performance, no thanks to the overwhelming 10-2 aggregate loss to Bayern Munich over two legs in the last 16 of the Champions League.A cross section of supporters have created a JustGiving page to raise £3,000 to hoist a banner from an airplane over the Emirates Stadium in any of Arsenal’s games.Manchester United fans had achieved same feat when a plane flew over Old Trafford during the tenure of David Moyes depicting ”˜wrong one ”“ Moyes out’. At press time, no less than 115 fans had promised a sum of £2,265 to the cause.According to statement on the page: “We are raising funds to help with demonstrations, advertisements and banners to encourage the owners of Arsenal, to remove Arsene Wenger from the position of manager.“He has constantly delivered unsatisfactory results, and lifelong Gooners are fed up.”Arsenal are lagging behind the fourth-placed Liverpool with five points and two games to go.
