Missing Budget: Calls for Buhari’s Impeachment Condemnable – APC

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has condemned calls by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), that President Muhammadu Buhari should be impeached. The opposition party had launched an attack on President Buhari after the Senate pointed accusing fingers at the Presidency for altering the 2016 budget. The president of the senate, Bukola Saraki had argued that a copy of the budget received from President Buhari, was different from what his aide, Ita Enang, distributed to its members. PDP in a statement, urged the National Assembly to impeach President Buhari. The opposition party equally called for the resignation of the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, and the Budget and National Planning Minister, Udo Udoma. The PDP further requested for the resignation of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele. However, APC described the call as comical. It sees it as, “confusing and worrisome that the PDP calls for an investigation into the budget issue and at the same time calls for the removal and resignation of the aforementioned.” According to APC, PDP’s statement constitutes a distraction to the National Assembly.
