Amokachi Takes Charge of Finnish Club

Former Nigeria international footballer and former assistant coach of the Super Eagles, Daniel Amokachi has been appointed as head coach of Finland’s JS Hercules for one year. The Bull, as he is fondly called will lead the newly promoted Finnish division side when the season starts and he is expected to bring his wealth experience to the fore. “It is certainly an adventure and a big change for me,” Amokachi told the club website. “I take this as a great challenge. The team is young and passionate. I’m looking forward to working with them.” The club through its chairman Juho Syrjä, expressed its pride in having the former Super Eagles star who played at the highest level. “We are proud to work with him, as even in Finland Amokachi is well-known. He will bring new insight to our team because he has seen it all during his career,” said Syrjä. Before his move to Finland, Amokachi was in charge of Nigeria Professional Football League outfit, FC Ifeanyi Ubah.
